ERDA was the Norse goddess of the earth.
Sometimes she was called Jord. She was said to be the mother of the
Valkyries.
Erda, Freya, and Frigga were all Norse earth goddesses and they were probably
all different aspects of the same goddess. All three of them were said to be the
wives of Odin in different stories. Since there is a Freya in Chobits, it's very unlikely that the name Erda
was not intended.
It seems that whoever at Tokyopop decided to refer to Erda as "Elda"
in the Chobits manga really didn't know
a whole lot about Norse mythology.

"Conoka" is the Latinized spelling of Konoka's name.
